The Group Vision is to highlight a wide variety of Quality Photo-manipulation. What is defined as "Quality" is different for every viewer. The group defines 'quality' as very good quality from a technical perspective, with the same principles applied in the case for photography - noisy/grainy or poorly composed manipulations will be rejected.

This group is for the intermediate-professional photo-manipulator. We will assist you as we can, but we are not a group dedicated to tutoring.

Rules of Submission

RULES OF SUBMISSION

PHOTO-MANIPULATIONS

To qualify as a photo-manipulation it must be an image that consists of elements from two or more photos that have been skillfully blended together.

A photo that has only been altered by the use of a filter does not qualify for this folder. There should be significant changes to the original scene beyond that which is attainable by using a simple filter.

Photo-manipulations must be of very good quality and of a high standard, as this is a group for intermediate to professional skilled artists.

Submissions are limited to 1 submission for each folder per week. Submissions to Favourites (Member Favourites)
are limited to 1 per member/per week.

A photo-manipulation must consist of more than just the application of a single filter. There should be significant changes to the original scene beyond that which is attainable by using a simple filter.

The use of Fractalius is discouraged unless used very sparingly.

In photo-manipulation (or any other artwork), if third-party elements are used in your creation, you must give due credits in all cases. We will not take responsibility for art works included in our galleries that have unauthorized elements used in them. Lack of credits and DIRECT links to the original stock will be a reason for instant decline of a submission.

March 12, 2013 Nudity will be accepted as long as there is no porn and done with respect and not offensive.

As in all cases, the Admins reserve the right to decline a Nude submission if in their view it encroaches on eroticism, porn, or vulgarity.

We will no longer accept Fan ART due to the copyright restrictions that prevail over originals used for reference purposes.

No eye manipulations

Use of stocks that are Creative Commons Licensed must also be licensed the same. If not the
submission will be declined.

March 5, 2013: In this group we will no longer accept SXC stock unless you are able to prove you have written permission from the photographer/owner of the stock to be used in the manner you have used it.

March 3, 2013 : Should you use stock from a stock provider that does not include attribution for the stock in the artist's comments area or in their rules the attribution of where they obtained their stock for premades or if the photos are their own, your work will be declined.

Please Note that we operate a zero tolerance policy towards disruptive and disrespectful behaviour from anyone in this group, and anyone found wanting in this area will immediately be removed and blocked by the Administration.

What are deviantART's stock image guidelines? [link]

To avoid having staff/volunteers move/remove your images - please ensure they follow these guidelines:

• Size must be a MINIMUM of 1000x1000pixels (excluding vintage portraits that are relatively small and of low quality)

• No heavy distortion due to blur/noise/grain (this rule is case-by-case and at the staff/volunteers discretion for the usability of the image in question.)

• No webcams or cell phone images
• No sexually explicit imagery
• No celebrity images or "editions"
• No anime "renders"
• No images taken from search engines such as Google
• No "premade" or "precut" images taken from stock sites that do not allow redistribution

If you use stock from stock accounts that are in violation of these guidelines, your work will not be accepted in this group.

FeedbackWhat is this?
When the photomanipulation community met in April, one of the largest issues which needed attention was that the community had no place to attain constructive criticism. Those new to photomanipulation desperately desired feedback from those more experienced in the art form; but where could they go for it? #Photomanip101 is a place dedicated to receiving feedback on photomanipulation pieces!
It is important to remember that we want to help you improve; as such do not take offence when a mentor offers you areas for improvement. They do not do it out of spite or jealousy, but to help you grow as an artist. If you ever feel like you have received unfair, or rude feedback, do not hesitate to contact a staff member, and we will investigate the situation.

Photomanip: Challenges and possible solutionsHi everyone,
I am still on hiatus because my 18-hour exam is just a week and a half away. However, I had a few moments, so I wanted to tell you about the results of the photomanipulation community meeting we had the other week.
First, let me say that I am extremely grateful to those of you who came. Everyone had a positive, constructive attitude, and I really think we were able to make good segue into a community that will acknowledge everyone's talents.
Here are some themes that came up and the solutions we decided to create for them.
Copyright
Problem: People are concerned about what stock is and is not allowed to be used. They are also concerned about being able to copyright their own work and keep people from stealing or copying them.
Solution: I am not sure there is a solution for this one that will be satisfactory to all people, as this is kind-of a risk you take when you post your work online-- especially if you
